WI-FI Connection

This is something you shouldn’t count on too much in Madagascar but it is improving. Most 2-stars hotels have Wi-Fi now although a consistent strong connection is still lacking everywhere.

Exchange

The currency unit is ARIARY (Ar). A euros worth about 4000 Ar but the exchange rate fluctuates daily. The import and export of Ariary is limited.

Clothing

Practical, light and sporty. Cotton is recommended. T-shirts, a light sweater, shorts, swimsuit, socks, a sweater for the night, a rain cape and a hat. Bring trekking style hiking shoes with a good ankle outfit, a pair of tennis and sandals for the evening.

Visa

A passport valid at least 6 months after the scheduled departure date. A visa for entry and residence issued by the Malagasy embassies and consulates. A visa for entry and stay issued by the Malagasy embassies and consulates or directly upon arrival at the airport

Health

It depends on your past vaccinations which ones are still required for your visit to Madagascar. Check your yellow little vaccine book and ask advice from your doctor. You don’t want to catch any tropical diseases.
